BLC outreach projects

'MAXI' Project
Through this partnership between BLC and social landlords Ashram Housing Association, Family Housing Association and Castle Vale Community Housing Association, housing-association officers can refer their tenants directly to BLC for priority legal advice and representation on debt and welfare benefits.

South West Advice Project, Bartley Green and Quinton (SWAP)
This project, funded through a consortium of SRB5 and Sure Start South West Birmingham, operates outreach casework surgeries from three venues in south-west Birmingham.

Sure Start – Handsworth: Lime Tree Children’s Centre
Our dedicated project worker provides legal advice and representation on debt, welfare benefits and community care to local Sure Start service-users.

BERR Face-2-Face Advice Project
The project, funded through the BERR (formerly DTI) financial inclusion fund, is partly outreach and partly office-based and provides debt and benefits advice and representation to clients in social housing.

Bangladeshi Legal Resource Project
This project, operated in partnership with the Bangladesh Centre in Sparkbrook, provides drop-in advice sessions at the Centre once a week, operated by Bengali-speaking BLC workers.  Cases involving further representation are referred back to BLC.
